Content Editor

IGV (Its Gone Viral) is looking for a brilliant Content Editor with experience as a journalist or reporter who thrives in a fastpaced newsroom environment. This is a midlevel role within the team and its essential you have an indepth knowledge of media law and a strong track record of delivering a wide range of trending entertainment or lifestyle stories at a national or regional title while understanding what works for a digital audience.

You should have firstrate writing subbing and editing skills and relish the test of working under pressure and to tight deadlines. Youre social media savvy with current SEO knowledge and youre familiar with newsroom analytics and content management systems such as Wordpress. Youre flexible passionate and know what makes a great story!

What do we require

• A journalistic background with newsroom experience Outstanding writing research and factchecking skills
• Previous experience in a similar role Targetdriven and the ability to meet tight deadlines
• A high standard of written English
• A university degree in journalism media or broadcasting and/or NCTJ qualified
• Experience in social media with a strong knowledge of Facebook Instagram and X
• Experience scheduling and posting content via Facebook Instagram and X
• Experience packaging articles creating captions titles and thumbnails to generate traffic
• Experience working as part of a team with strong teamwork skills
• Knowledge of journalism law and ethics

Desirable Skills

• SEO knowledge and experience or a willingness to learn
• A proven ability to come up with new and original ideas that will go viral
• The ability to instinctively spot a story that the audience will love to hear about
• Ability to collaborate on ideas with other team members working together to develop concepts for the audience and make them better
