Consultant Obs and Gynae

The Role:
We are looking for a dedicated Obs and Gynae Consultant who is suitably experienced to apply for an exciting opportunity, working with a dedicated team.

This is a tertiary referral centre with over 2200 births. It has a busy Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with a regional role extending throughout the Territory. The service is strongly committed to providing care that is child, family and woman focused.

You will provide a specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology service to include the care of both inpatient and ambulatory patients, within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department of the Hospital, regional hospitals, and remote communities; contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education, including vocational training and supervision.

High-risk pregnancies are common, with a higher proportion of women experiencing pre-term birth, gestational diabetes, renal disease and rheumatic heart disease than in other locations.

Gynaecological services include colposcopy, urodynamic and advanced laparoscopy with an active outreach program to communities.

The Hospital:
The Hospital has 360 beds, servicing a population of over 140,000 it is a diverse population including urban, regional, and remote centres, it is a teaching hospital and is co-located with the Private Hospital. A wide range of specialist services include Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, Intensive Care and Coronary Care, acute medical and surgical, Rehabilitation, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Mental Health.

Skills & Qualifications required:

1. Eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
2. Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology or RANZCOG assessed as substantially comparable
