The Role: We are seeking a Obs and Gynae Consultant to join a dedicated team in a regional Victorian location.
Fix$207.20 per hour

The Department provides inpatient and outpatient services and clinics offered in this service include antenatal care, gestational diabetes, high risk pregnancy care, surgical gynaecology, colposcopy, and family planning.
This is a level 4 service supporting women birthing from 36 weeks and is supported by the Paediatric Service.
The successful applicant would work in clinical areas of inpatient and outpatient obstetrics and gynaecology services in Horsham. This includes participating in the on-call roster overnight and on weekends. The unit is supported by junior doctors, another fulltime obstetrician and GP obstetrician.
You will be expected to:- Participate in monitoring care outcomes for mothers and children through maternity service case review/ Maternal and Perinatal meeting.
- Assist in developing and reviewing clinical protocols and pathways for O&G
- Perform daily ward rounds of obstetrics and gynaecology patients.
- Undertake elective operating lists and outpatient consulting sessions.
- Participate in the on-call roster for obstetrics and gynaecology patients. When on call at weekends, to review all patients in the obstetrics and gynaecology wards or Emergency Department when requested by O and G resident medical staff or senior midwives.
- Participate in teaching for Resident Medical Staff and Midwives
The Location: The city of has a population of 19,500 and is 300 kms from Melbourne and 400kms to Adelaide. It is a well serviced city with diverse education and businesses, positioned at the northern end of the Grampians National Park, nearby lakes and world-famous rock-climbing areas as well as being a wine and food hub.
The Hospital: The health service has an average of 300 -400 births per year, 12,500 admissions and 4,600 operations and 16,000 ED attendances annually. They have a modern theatre complex, including a day procedure unit, a five-bed intensive care unit, and acute and subacute wards all set within a picturesque garden setting.
Key Selection Criteria Essential:- A current registration as a Medical Specialist with the Medical Practitioners Board of Australia/AHPRA
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG)
- Demonstrated organisational, time management and problem-solving skills within a complex clinical environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
