Today over 18000 patients residents and visitors alike see our health care teams for both outpatient and inpatient services.Summary:Sleep lab technologist provides care for patients undergoing sleep studies and sleep disorder treatment.Duties:The sleep lab technologist will prepare for the arrival of the patient by setting up equipment for the ordered test.Interview the patient to determine any sleep issues and explain the testing procedures to the patient.Perform ordered test as well as any additional testing that may be neededEducates patients about test results sleep disorders community support groups and available resources.Prepare calibrate repair and maintain equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs and replacements.Score interpret and report results of sleep studiesRecognizes documents and reports all unusual patient response to treatment or testing.Consistently follow all department policies and procedures.All other duties as assignedPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:2 years of experienceHigh School Diploma/GEDBasic Life SupportRequired Licensure/Certification: Registered as a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or equivalent.VERIFICATION OF CREDENTIALS CHECKLISTBefore agency personnel may provide care to patients or perform any responsibility requiring a license a HR representative will confirm receipt of the following credentials/documents from candidates travel agency: Current license or multistate license and source verified Copies of certifications required for the position that are listed in the Job Description.o Such as: BLS and ACLS must be AHA and PALS. Immunization records including documentation of immunity to Rubella Rubeola Mumps VaricellaZoste Hep B and Tetanus. TB test within the last year. Acceptable tests include QuantiFERON or Tspot or True Two step PPD (which means skins test and read must be done 2 times not just once. If they do not have the Two step PPD already it will take a few weeks to get it so the other options are suggested.) Influenza shot is required by the State of Colorado no exceptions during influenza season. Influenza season is Sept 1st (depending on availability of flu vaccines) through to March 31st of the following year or as otherwise defined by the Department of Epidemiology and Flu Surveillance Team. Copy of negative 10 panel drug screen results (within the last 30 days). Resume with work experience. Documented references. Proof of all required Regulatory (OSHA) Training. Assessment of skills/competencies. Results of criminal background check including OIG (within the last 30 days). CAPS check through the State of Colorado (required for all patient care positions).
