Cloud Technical Architect

The Cloud Technical Architect meets with companys product development teams to define the most appropriate cloud services to satisfy their various requirements. In addition this position serves as the enterprise lead escalation point concerning AWS and Alibaba related operations issues as this role should be considered a handson functional position. As this role demands a significant amount of technical writing it also requires a candidate who can think independently and clearly articulate technical opinions.

• Understanding of public cloud platforms with a specific focus on AWS and Alibaba

• Design cloud architectures that comply with company security policies

• Experience collaborating with AWS engineering teams on AWS feature release cycles

• Ability to comprehend and create complex network drawings using standard design tools (i.e. Visio)

• Experience deploying and operating both cloudbased firewalls and loadbalancers

• Experience with application deployment troubleshooting and production support

• Working knowledge of Infrastructure management tools (Terraform preferred)

• Familiarity/Experience with container technologies e.g. Docker Kubernetes etc.

• Passion for writing detailed technical documentation in the form of both HL and LL engineering guides

Requirements:

• EDUCATION/LANGUAGE: Bachelors degree in computer science or related technology/engineering discipline required.
• EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

Ten (10) or more years of IT engineering experience required

Five (5) or more years working in a network and security engineering discipline

Five (5) or more years working in a cloud engineering position required

Five (5) or more years with direct working experience on AWS or Alibaba required

Experience with technical writing and defending technology decisions

AWS Solutions Architect Professional required

Alibaba (ACP) Cloud Networking Certification preferred

Alibaba (ACP) Cloud Compute Certification preferred

Experience providing escalated operations support required

Good communication and collaboration skills
