Cleaner Janitor

VCS is looking for Cleaner for one of our client at Stony Brook NY

Pay Rate: $23.67/Hour
Attendance/Performance Appreciation: Up to $250/Month as Gift Cards (NonTaxable)

Shift:
Shift 2: 3pm11:30pm 5 days a week including every weekend
Shift 3: 11pm7:30am 5 days a week that includes every weekend.

8 Hours 5 days weekly 40 Hours

Location: Stony Brook NY 11794

Contract: 6 Months with possible extension

Contract to Permanente (Depends on performance)

Cleaners perform a wide range of cleaning tasks to maintain assigned areas in State buildings and surrounding grounds and walkways. Incumbents work independently or as part of a cleaning team in a variety of settings such as administrative office classroom hospital laboratory living treatment and other work area

Performs a variety of cleaning tasks in assigned areas:
Collects and empties trash and recycling in accordance with cleaning schedules; cleans and/or removes hazardous or misplaced items waste and spills; and disposes transports or places such in appropriate receptacles and locations following proper cleaning procedures.
Assembles cleaning carts according to assigned tasks; and prepares mixes and dilutes cleaning solutions following manufacturer directions.
Washes floors corridors stairwells walls partitions and windows using mops detergents brushes and other cleaning devices.
Vacuums strips and waxes floors and shampoos carpets using manual or mechanical equipment.
Scrubs and cleans showers and restrooms including toilets sinks and drains using handoperated equipment and cleaning agents.
Replaces light bulbs and dusts or washes light fixtures and high places such as ceilings using ladders other appropriate equipment and tools.
Polishes wood and metal surfaces fixtures furniture and equipment.
Monitors cleaning supplies and equipment; and notifies supervisor of supply levels equipment malfunction and/or maintenance issues observed during cleaning.
Replaces cleans and/or hangs building fixtures and decorative items such as curtains blinds and pictures.
Moves and arranges furniture and equipment in connection with cleaning tasks or in preparation for meetings events and other activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

There are no education requirements for this class. Cleaners must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
