We are looking for a lead civil/structural engineer with project management experience to assist in the growth of its Salt Lake City Utah office which is responsible for the domestic growth of the company throughout the United States.

As the Lead Civil/Structural Engineer with Project Management Experience at Norda Stelo you will play a key role in directing the civil and structural engineering projects with a focus on one or more of the market segments of Construction Materials & Handling Energy (Oil & Gas) Mining & Metals and Water & Wastewater treatment. Leveraging your technical expertise and project management skills you will oversee the design development and execution of engineering solutions ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead civil and structural engineering projects from conceptualization through to completion.
  • Manage project scope budget and schedule ensuring adherence to quality standards and client specifications.
  • Conduct site assessments feasibility studies and risk assessments to inform project planning and decisionmaking.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including process engineers mechanical engineers and architects to develop integrated engineering solutions.
  • Prepare engineering designs calculations specifications and drawings using industrystandard software and methodologies.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
  • Interface with clients contractors and regulatory agencies to facilitate project approvals and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate with construction teams during the implementation phase providing support and resolving technical issues as they arise.
  • Monitor project progress track key performance indicators and prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders.

Our essentials

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Structural Engineering or related field; Masters degree a plus.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license required in the State of Utah and/or other states.
  • Minimum of 810 years of experience in civil and structural engineering with a focus on one or more of the Construction Materials & Handling Energy Mining & Metals and Water & Wastewater Treatment industries.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing engineering projects from concept to completion including budgeting scheduling and risk management.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAADPro RISA 3D or similar.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD SolidWorks 3D Modeling or similar design software.
  • Experience in finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of industry codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with clients stakeholders and project teams.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools such as PMI/PMP certification is a plus.
  • Selfmotivated and resultsoriented with a flexible mindset and ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and client locations as needed.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to work in both office and field environments including construction sites industrial facilities and remote locations.
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and navigate uneven terrain.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions noise and potential hazards associated with construction and industrial activities.
