Reporting Manager: CHIEF FINANCIAL CONTROLLER (CFO)
Status: Full time

Purpose of the Job
Our client is seeking to hire a Chief Accountant who will oversee the daytoday accounting activities and ensure the completion of daily tasks for both financial and management accounts within set deadlines and deliverables in coordination with the CFO. The Chief Accountant will be responsible for preparing specific financial and performance reports assisting in budget preparation and reviews overseeing Annual Audits addressing KRA queries implementing internal controls and ensuring adherence to approved Finance SOPs within the company.

Duties:
Coordinate with finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlinesresolve any issues raised in a timely manner.
Ensure all communication received is responded to in a timely manner emails shall require a response within 2 days.
Provide guidance to the accountants when needed supervise and train new staff in the department. Train all accounts personnel on Finance procedures and controls and any new improvements incorporated in the SOPs.
Confirm and check the monthly Payroll within defined deadlines in liaison with the senior accountant and ensure all payments bank transfers are processed in time by resolving any queries or issues encountered immediately.
Timely confirmation and approval of supplier payments for HODs to review before submission.
Ensure accurate and timely data entry is done in liaison with the Senior Accountants.
Ensure reconciliations of control accounts supplier accounts banks etc are done accurately as per the set deadlines.
Perform monthend accounting activities such as processing journal entries provisions and other adjustments reconciliations to ensure accounts reflect an accurate position.
Record classify and summarise financial transactions and events in accordance with accepted local accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Responsible for Company secretarial files shall ensure all are up to date and accurate.
Generate accurate monthly quarterly and annual financial reports and statements from the system for review.
Conduct Internal Audits in the department and ensure processes are being followed.
Analyse and review any discrepancies and implement recommended effective solutions in liaison with the CFO and the Finance Team.
Timely respond to all accounting inquiries raised.
Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
Prepare documentation for auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested reports.
Communicate and deal with auditors tax advisors lawyers KRA and any other 3rd Parties as required.
Monitor and timely record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.
Contribute to team effort the committee management teams and any other assigned Projects by accomplishing related results as and when requested.
Ensure efficient communication and follow up on issues that require interdepartmental coordination by engaging actively with various heads of departments.
Implement follow and commit to all approved Standard Operating Procedures and Policies of the Company.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned to you by your manager.

Requirements

Requirements:
ACCA or CPA/CPAK certified.
Microsoft office advanced skills.
At least 35 years experience in a similar position.
Kenyan Citizen
