Overview: As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at a Healthcare and Rehabilitation Facility you will be an integral part of our healthcare team providing essential clinical and administrative support to ensure the efficient delivery of patient care services. CMAs work under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals assisting with patient assessments treatments and medication management. Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations procedures and treatments as directed.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by obtaining vital signs medical history and chief complaints.
  • Administer medications injections and immunizations following established protocols and under the supervision of licensed providers.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests such as blood draws urine tests and specimen collection and prepare specimens for laboratory processing.
  • Assist with wound care dressing changes and other minor medical procedures.
  • Document patient information assessments and interventions accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR) or other designated systems.
  • Provide patient education on medical conditions treatment plans medication instructions and preventive healthcare measures.
  • Assist with scheduling patient appointments referrals and followup care as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies equipment and medications and ensure proper storage and handling.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas.

Requirements:

  • Active certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (may be required or preferred).
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting particularly in rehabilitation or longterm care is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology documentation and basic clinical procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding ethical standards of practice.

Responsibilities: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and eating. Provide mobility assistance, including transferring residents between beds, chairs, and wheelchairs. Help residents with a range of motion exercises and ambulation as directed by healthcare professionals. Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output measurements, and other relevant information. Assist with medication administration under the supervision of licensed nurses. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, including making beds, tidying rooms, and organizing belongings. Respond promptly to resident calls and requests for assistance. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans for residents. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting social engagement and well-being. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to resident care discussions as appropriate. Requirements: Active certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of [insert state]. High school diploma or equivalent. CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (may be required or preferred). Previous experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
