A business development specialist is charged with driving new business to the company using a variety of methods and techniques such as promotions product development or research. He/she builds market position by locating developing defining negotiating and closing business relationships. He/she anticipates market needs develops and executes programs for field sales distributors and customers to maximize interest and effectiveness in the sales process. A business development specialist can also be a key figure involved in the development of a new product. He/she performs Sales Marketing and Customer Service activities and often makes the initial contact with referral sources and potential clients and maintains longterm relationships to generate referrals.
