Bridge Engineer

Fullservice engineering firm with tradition and reputation that goes back over 40 years looking to add a Bridge Engineer to their Charleston West Virginia office!

Responsibilities:

• Design/plan preparation in alignment with applicable design specifications
  
• Apply technical knowledge in development of type selection design and construction support of projects
  
• Design both smallscale and largescale projects with focus on safety efficiency and budget
  
• Design bridges (steel girder prestressed and reinforced concrete) foundations box culverts retaining walls and a variety of civil transportation and irrigation canal structures
  
• Mentor/train junior staff
  
• Create/maintain load rating project databases/tracking systems
  
• Duties include concept development perform bridge sizing structural design seismic analysis develop bridge plans/special provisions estimate construction costs and schedules
  
• Perform bridge inspections/load ratings
  
• Meet/exceed client expectations
  
• Build/maintain client relationships
  
• Assist with business development
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  
• PE preferred
  
• 5 years of experience in bridge design load rating and other transportationrelated structure design
  
• Experience using AASHTO LRFD AREMA AASHTO MBE AASHTO Standard Specifications AASHTOWare BrR and CANDE
  
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis software such as ANSYS with transient analysis
  
• Experience with DB and DBB project delivery methods
  
• Skilled in CSI Bridge LEAP Bridge MathCAD Microsoft Excel and other routine structural designrelated software (LPile MDX and PGSuper)
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  

Salary is commensurate with experience.
