For our client the company F. Hoffmann La Roche based in Rotkreuz we are looking for a Biospecimen Associate (m/f/d).

Background

The Biospecimen Acquisition & Management team (BAM) team at Roche Diagnostics International (RDI) leads the acquisition and management of biological materials and clinical samples with associated data designed to facilitate and advance local R&D activities. BAM collaborates with various Life Cycle Teams Projects and Functional Areas to ensure that customer requirements for biological materials are agreed to via formal established processes communicated to on a periodic basis and met per commitment in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices Good Clinical Data Management Practices Quality and Business standards.

The biospecimen associate (MT3) will facilitate the daily operation associated primarily with the biorepository/inventory & freezer management of biological samples to support the ongoing projects within Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS).

The perfect candidate has a relevant vocational education and more than 3 years relevant experience. The person must be able to lift 30lbs work in a cold environment with limited daylight stand for long periods of time and climb ladders. The candidate should have a willingness to work with potentially infectious biological material and be able to communicate in English on a B2 level.

Tasks

• Work under moderate supervision to receive shipments perform sample verification store retrieve and distribute samples
• Manage sample collection materials and laboratory supplies
• Organize specimen inventory as directed and ensure accurate and consistent labeling of samples and specimens
• Support inventory accuracy with routine storage monitoring activities which requires handling of physical samples labeling and relabeling samples and equipment/freezer maintenance such as defrosting cleaning filters etc.
• Prepare samples for transfers and logistic support including global shipments while maintaining an accurate chain of custody
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Relevant vocational training and min. 3 years of relevant prof. experience OR Non relevant vocational training with 24 years duration and 5 years of relevant experience (Bachelors degree at the most) (*****)
• Proficient with MS Excel and Google suite
• English B2 Level (*****)
• Hepatitis vaccination available
• Able to lift 30lbs work in cold environment with limited daylight stand for long periods of time and climb ladders (*****)
• Willingness to work with potentially infectious biological material (*****)
• Selfmotivated and solution driven individual who can maintain quality accuracy and timeliness of deliverables
• Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management

• Biobanking experience or Experience handling biological specimens

Work hours

• Standard 40 h / Week
• Remote/Home Office: Minimal but mainly onsite
