Job Title: Bilingual (Spanish) Special Education Teacher/LBS1

Location: Illinois School District near Mooseheart Il

Overview: Join our team of dedicated educators committed to providing exceptional education to all students. We are seeking a passionate and qualified Bilingual (Spanish) Special Education Teacher/LBS1 to support our diverse student population. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with special needs while utilizing your fluency in Spanish to enhance communication and understanding.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs in collaboration with parents general education teachers and other support staff.
  • Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities utilizing evidencebased strategies to support their academic social and emotional growth.
  • Adapt curriculum materials and instructional techniques to meet the individual needs of students including those who are English Language Learners (ELLs).
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress goals and individualized support strategies.


Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Illinois Professional Educator License with endorsement in Special Education (LBS1).
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of special education laws regulations and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues students and families.
