Overview

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and beverages according to established recipes and quality standards
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting taking orders and addressing customer inquiries
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the caf including the coffee bar and seating areas
• Operate coffeemaking equipment such as espresso machines grinders and brewers
• Handle cash process payments and maintain accurate transaction records
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and timely service during peak hours
• Uphold food safety and hygiene regulations in the handling and storage of food and beverages
• Stock and replenish caf items including coffee beans syrups and other supplies
• Assist in creating and maintaining a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for customers
• Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and problemsolving skills
• Participate in training to expand knowledge of coffee industry trends and new products
• Contribute to the overall success of the caf by supporting promotional events and initiatives
• Adhere to company policies procedures and guidelines at all times
• Contribute to a positive team environment and promote teamwork among colleagues
• Perform opening and closing duties as required including cleaning and restocking

Required qualifications

• Prior experience in a similar role in the food and beverage industry
• Knowledge of various coffee and espresso drinks brewing methods and coffee roasts
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers and team members
• Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Demonstrated customer service skills and a friendly approachable demeanor
• Experience with cash handling and POS systems
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
• Strong problemsolving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move moderately heavy items
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in coffee preparation is a plus
• Passion for coffee and a willingness to learn and expand knowledge in the field
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Attention to cleanliness and organization in the workplace
