Purpose:
The Automation project leader is responsible for:

Ensuring successful industrialization and technical support processes.


  • Steering and monitoring the industrialization of automated systems from the drafting of specifications to the completion of validation activities and production startup phases in compliance with cost quality and deadline requirements.
  • Enabling privileged technical communication with suppliers and customers for automated systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Technical:
  • Draws up specifications for consultation and production of assembly machines robots press peripherals etc. taking into account quality safety and environmental criteria.
  • Responds to internal requests for quotes concerning automated systems.
  • Consults referenced suppliers and suggest changes to the supplier panel.
  • Participates in supplier selection.
  • Validates proposed studies and designs.
  • Defines and carries out qualification plans for automated systems in collaboration with the Quality department.
  • Deploys the Quality policy to employees: compliance with customer requirements application of rules and procedures.
  • Carry out acceptance and qualification of automated systems in accordance with specifications and validation plans.
  • Transfers automated systems to the Production and Maintenance departments (technical files training aids standards etc.) and provides technical support during the production startup phase.
  • Participates in various productivity workgroups.
  • Takes part in relevant project meetings and may lead working groups.
  • Participates in drawing up and implementing the departments progress plan.
  • Keeps abreast of developments in his/her field of activity.
  • Supervises the existing automation solutions.
  • Ensures the proper operation of the solutions already deployed.
  • Maintains and upgrades existing solutions.
  • Implements automation solutions.
  • Identifies potential automation initiatives within the Group.
  • Runs the technological watch in terms of new solutions.
  • Evaluates and supports projects for the automation aspects.
  • Implements and performs the recurring reviews (e.g. access control) and evaluations (performance & security).
  • Establishes budgets controls and followsup costs related to the automation solutions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors or masters degree in a relevant field such as engineering computer science information technology or a related discipline.
  • Holds an electrical certification/habitation.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Nemera leadership skills:
  • Deals constructively with complex problems.
  • Knows how to mobilize individual and collective energies.
  • Fluent in technical English.


  • Has indepth knowledge of techniques and resources specific to automated assembly.
  • Knows and applies project followup methodology.
  • Knows how to conduct and lead a meeting.
  • Is attentive to customer expectations.
