AutoCAD Specialist - Residential Interior Design

High-end interior design firm specializing in estate home projects, new construction, commercial interiors, and in depth home renovations, is expanding again, and looking to hire a motivated AutoCAD Specialist to work within their CAD Department. AutoCAD drafters specialize in creating Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models using Autodesks AutoCAD software. These highly-trained draftsmen work with architects and engineers to design and create 2D and 3D computer models of buildings and machine parts from blueprints or from scratch.

In this role, you will be required to meet with architects and engineers to discuss design concepts for CAD models, develop product designs, and generate Surface or Solid software models. To ensure success as an AutoCAD specialist, you should have extensive experience working with AutoCAD software, advanced design skills, and a keen eye for detail. Ultimately, a top-class AutoCAD drafter can design and create high-level design models that meet all the specifications of the client. AutoCAD Specialist will work under the direct supervision of the Project Architect/Department Manager. This candidate will be immersed in many projects simultaneously. This position is full-time and in-office, not remote.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

• Performing the fundamentals of design and digital drafting


• Understanding construction methodology and detailing


• Working in a team environment


• Developing product designs from scratch.


• Presenting rough design drafts for client approval.


• Ensuring product designs meet required safety and structural standards.


• Generating Solid and Surface CAD models using AutoCAD software


• Working under pressure in meeting deadlines


• An architectural background or design background would be preferable and have 5+ years of AutoCAD experience.
