Job Description:
Tasked with managing a diverse array of legal issues related to municipal local government and special district law. The role encompasses conducting research drafting documents and applying legal expertise to various municipal and special district concerns including but not limited to land use and real estate transactions public finance and intergovernmental agreements.
Job Description:
Legal Research Writing and Editing Skills: Conduct legal research and compose legal documents (contracts memorandums ordinances resolutions etc.) that exhibit clarity logical structure conciseness minimal errors and appropriateness for the intended audience.
Excellent People and Communication Skills: Engage in effective written verbal and inperson communication with clients professional consultants fellow attorneys and individuals within local government councils boards of directors and professional staff.
Competent Computer Skills: Acquire proficiency in document management billing and other software programs to draft edit and share documents; send and receive documentation; record billed time; and interact with internal staff and clients.
Strong Critical Thinking Skills: Demonstrate problemsolving abilities adhere to instructions apply analytical thinking exercise good judgment and seek clarification through questions when needed.
Team Player: Collaborate and cooperate with colleagues and clients offering assistance in answering queries providing legal advice and resolving issues. Active listening skills are crucial in our collaborative approach.
Highly organized detailoriented and selfmotivated.
Qualifications:
Licensed attorney in good standing in the State of Colorado.
Completion of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
Ideally possess 3 to 8 years of experience as a practicing attorney specializing in municipal local government and special districts law real property contracts public utilities operations or regulation employment law risk management legislation and public finance. Alternatively previous experience as a judicial law clerk or government law clerk conducting research on local government issues would be beneficial.
