A big part of our guests vacation is the incredible range of restaurants and dining venues onboard. The Culinary Arts team serves as the backbone of that operation. The Assistant Cook is an entry level positionsupporting various functions in the Galley (ships kitchen).

Overview:

  • Food preparation across a range of culinary areas
  • Following recipes and supporting culinary leadership
  • Ensuring specifications are followed to ensure quality and consistency
  • Ensuring high levels of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained all in keeping with company and USPH standards.
  • Supporting logistics preparation and other tasks to support the culinary teams.

Expectations:

You will be a real foodie who has an eye for detail and enjoys being part of a large diverse and busy team where no two days are the same.

  • Arrive at work on time in a clean and companyspecified uniform.
  • Learn to maintain the quality and presentation of all food served and the expedition thereof.
  • Learn and follow all USPH and HACCP procedures in food production and galley maintenance.
  • Assist the cooks in production and servicing the lines.
  • Learn to follow all recipes to company specifications.
  • Communicate and cooperate with all other team members to ensure a smooth food delivery system.
  • Ensure garbage separation standards are being followed.
  • Perform all other tasks assigned by senior management.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum one years experience in a restaurant hotel or cruise ship environment.
  • Must have worked in a highvolume professional Culinary environment.
  • Strong comprehension of the English Language.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
