SUMMARY: This position serves as a lead person for the assembly, pump rebuild, and testing operations. The Operations Lead is responsible for the quality and productivity of all employees in the shop, as well as for departmental safety. Additionally, the Operations Lead is accountable for ensuring that scheduled orders are completed in a timely manner and within quality requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Scheduling to prioritize customer orders and assign them to shop personnel.
  • Maintain consistent and efficient flow of daily production to meet the order scheduling through ongoing follow-up with shop personnel.
  • Monitor workload in the shop and advise Operations Manager of capacity concerns.
  • Ensure that established procedures and quality requirements are being followed.
  • Answer questions from shop personnel and provide additional training and coaching as needed for proper completion of the work.
  • Leads by good example and assists in creating a positive and cohesive team environment.
  • Verify shop personnel have proper tools available and that those are being used for the jobs.
  • Conduct periodic audits of the processes.
  • Work on customer orders as needed to ensure timely completion. This would include doing assembly, inspection, and/or testing.
  • Comply with and enforce all safety rules.
  • Ensures that the shop area is kept clean and organized.
  • Act as a liaison between shop personnel and management.
  • Work closely and cooperatively with other departments such as Quality, Engineering, and Scheduling.
  • Attend workshops and training as required.
  • Performs any and all other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Qualifications

Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Five (5) or more years of assembly work
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
  • Experience with interpreting schematics and drawings
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability manage multiple priorities and apply reasoning skills to solve problems
  • Capable of lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
  • Experience operating material handling equipment and power tools
