Embark on a dynamic journey providing onsite interpretation services across a wide spectrum of events from meetings to conferences and beyond. Your adeptness in translating spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa will ensure clarity and cultural sensitivity in communication. Youll be instrumental in fostering seamless communication within diverse settings including educational institutions healthcare facilities government agencies and businesses. Upholding the highest professional standards and ethical guidelines including those set forth by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) will be paramount in your role.
Embrace a culture of continual growth and improvement by actively participating in training sessions seizing professional development opportunities and engaging in selfassessment to hone your interpreting skills. Your collaboration with colleagues clients and stakeholders will be essential in ensuring the success of every interaction while upholding confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelors degree in Sign Language Interpretation Deaf Studies or a related field preferred.
- RID certification (e.g. CI CT CSC NIC CDI) or equivalent credential required.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English with strong fluency in both languages.
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in diverse settings and environments.
