Applied Macroeconomics Specialist (P2) at the International Labour Organization Department of Statistics.
Location: Geneva Switzerland. Application deadline 15 March 2024.
Primary responsibilities:
This assignment is located in the Data Production and Analysis Unit (DPAU) of the ILO Department of Statistics. DPAU is responsible for the collection production and dissemination of labour statistics published on ILOSTAT the ILOs central statistical database and for the development and maintenance of numerous econometric models designed to produce national regional and global estimates for the ILO modelled estimates data series.
Under direct supervision and within the policy and procedural requirements established by the ILO the incumbent will contribute to maintaining and further developing the ILO modelled estimates data series and the related econometric models. In particular the incumbent will contribute to modelling tools for labour market simulations imputation of labour statistics policy impact scenarios and labour market analysis.
Required qualifications:
Education
Advanced university degree in macroeconomics or econometrics (PhD preferred).
Experience
At least two years of relevant professional experience. The experience must include applied econometric modelling in the fields of macroeconomics or development economics.
Languages
Excellent knowledge of English. Working knowledge of French and/or Spanish would be an advantage.
