We are currently seeking a highly skilled Applications Developer in support of a dynamic team in McLean VA. This role is ideal for a professional ready to take on the challenge of transitioning a Java/Springboot application interfacing with an Elasticsearch data tier to a cuttingedge Pythonbased solution. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining the legacy search environment while simultaneously developing new features and ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the nextgeneration platform in coordination with an Agile Development team.
Support the transition of a Java/Springboot application to a Pythonbased solution.
Maintain the legacy search environment until it can be retired.
Develop new features and provide ongoing operations and maintenance for the nextgeneration platform.
Work within a dynamic Agile environment supporting integration with multiple applications.
Represent the development team in Technical Exchange meetings.
Demonstrated experience with Elasticsearch.
Proficiency in Java/Springboot and Python development.
Experience supporting multiple interrelated services and working with REST services.
Proficiency with AWS Services and Cloudbased development including EC2 ELB RDS S3 and VPC.
Experience in Agile (Sprint or Kanban) development environments.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
Experience in design systems analysis and identifying technology gaps.
Experience with Kubernetes or Lambda.
Experience with Big Data tools and environments.
Monitoring and event management in AWS Services.
Automation monitoring and alerting for cloud platforms.
Experience with authentication services and API Gateways.
Managing CICD pipelines using tools like CloudFormation and JENKINS.
Ability to convey technical information to nontechnical individuals.
