With hundreds of thousands of smart devices connected to the Tibber platform (like electric vehicles and smart thermostats) we have one of the most unique portfolios for trading energy and offering flexible services to the grid.

Job Mission

You will report to our Data Director and be part of our data platform team consisting of Analytics Engineers and Data Engineers with the mission to enable Analysts and Data Scientists to work more efficiently with data and analytics by providing highquality data tooling and frameworks.

The larger data area consists of Data Scientists and Data Analysts working in a hybrid embedded/centralized model. They span across the entire company working on a range of different analytical use cases.

In your role as Analytics Engineer you will act as an important bridge between Data Engineers Data Scientists and Analysts to facilitate getting userfriendly data out in the company. Ensuring that they have the tools and support needed to drive change through insights into the company.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

Data modeling. Design and develop our business central data models and guide encourage and educate stakeholders on how to use these.

Support. Collaborate with and support analysts and data scientists in designing building and optimizing their data models.

Development experience. Own and maintain the development experience for analytics through setting best practices and building CI/CD pipelines.

Data quality and documentation. Implement and inspire how to use suggested frameworks for data testing quality assurance and documentation.

Ideal Profile

Ideally we would like to see the following:

Relevant work experience. We expect you to have 3 years of experience working in a Data Analyst/Data Engineer/Analytics Engineering type of position. The actual title matters less than the contents of your role.

Technical expertise. Youve spent at least 23 years writing SQL independently and with high quality. This will be your bread and butter in this role. Additionally at least a couple of years using dbt or a similar tool.

Data modeling knowhow. Youve delved into the world of data modeling having at least 12 years hands on experience working specifically with dimensional modeling.

Technical and business literacy. You feel comfortable bridging the gap between Data Engineers and Analysts and youre fluent in translating business needs into technical terms.

Coaching abilities. Youre excited about and have prior experience in coaching Analysts in using the data model and optimising their models.

Proactive and businessminded mindset. Cares about making an impact rolling up your sleeves and leaning forward on projects.

A team player: yes every ad says this but we need you to truly believe our team is more important than an individual. There is no room for big egos.

Bonus if you have (but not essential):

  • Working knowledge of Pyspark and Python
  • Having been part of a scaleup company
  • Being familiar with our tech stack (Databricks Thoughtspot AWS)
  • Infrastructure as code (we use terraform)
