Position Summary: This position functions within the nursing department to assist patients and medical staff within the ambulatory care setting by providing a variety of nursing services to all ages (cradle to grave) of patients. Position Complexities: This position works within a nursing team which consists of RNs LPNs and unlicensed clinical assistances. They are responsible to perform full assessments prioritize patient needs and patient flow and perform skills and coordinate care as ordered by providers. In addition the RN is expected to use critical thinking to work within standing orders to expedite care patient services. As necessary the RN may work in other nursing roles so that departmental functions are covered on a daily basis. Performs duties in a responsible respectful and caring manner to promote effective relationships.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Duty/Responsibility #1 (25%): Performs initial assessments of patients who present for appointments or urgent care services. RN also provides telephone services including an assessment and advice of selfcare &/or appropriate care options. Assessment will included POV history of present illness vital sign measurements as appropriate gathering of gpra data immunization status preventative health needs and other tasks based on POV and anticipation of patient &/or providers needs.
