TPF Recruitment has partnered with a fantastic fastgrowing and multisited firm of chartered accountants who are recruiting for an Assistant Accounts Manager to join their team in Horsham. You will work in a general practice position across accounts tax and audit and have exposure to some excellent clients ranging from sole traders and small Ltd companies to some significantly largesized groups.
The firm we are working with is open to receiving CV candidates who currently work as an Accounts Senior looking to progress into an Assistant Manager position or someone who is already working in an Assistant Manager capacity.
Accounts Assistant Manager Duties:
- Managing client expectations and updating clients with costs and time estimations.
- Assisting Managers and Partners in client meetings where required.
- First review small accounts jobs from trainee accountants before submission to the Client Manager/Partner.
- Produce work for Client Managers and Partners review which requires little further input clearly highlighting issues and providing potential solutions to issued identified.
- Prepare mediumsized and group accounts.
- Prepare CT600 submissions for Client Managers.
- Preparing personal tax returns partnership tax returns and companies tax returns income and expenditure accounts and rental accounts and providing general tax advice to clients.
- Keeping up to date with current legislation and complying with rules relating to postqualification education to identify ways to enhance CPD.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate for this role will:
- Be ACA/ACCA newly qualified or partqualified or AAT qualified with a wish to qualify further
- Have strong knowledge of accounting for SMEs including corporate tax VAT and PAYE
- Have experience supervising trainees accountants
- Aptitude for delivering excellent customer service
- Approachable with an ability to build strong working relationships
- Good verbal and written communication skills as they would be dealing directly with clients.

- The role can involve hybrid working. We re very open to this but the role will involve some officebased days. There is no set pattern for the officebased days as we re open to discussing the needs of the individual on a casebycase basis.
