Accounting Specialist

Position Overview:

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices excellent attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment. The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for supporting various accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements
• Assist with monthend and yearend close processes including preparation of journal entries and financial reports
• Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records and documentation
• Assist with payroll processing and related tasks
• Prepare and file sales tax returns and other regulatory filings
• Respond to inquiries from vendors customers and internal stakeholders regarding financial transactions
• Assist with adhoc projects and analysis as needed
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting issues and improve processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred
• 3 years of experience in accounting or finance role
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Xero Sage Famous) and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles preferred
