We are looking to fill a full-time, 2nd Shift Production Supervisor position with a manufacturer located in the area of Racine, WI.

Second Shift. No first shift available.

Work Four-10 hours shifts. Off Fri, Sat, Sun.

Pay range is $60k to $80k DOE


SUMMARY

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of production workers by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Directs setup of presses.


  • Build a strong, motivated production team capable of consistently delivering high quality products against aggressive production targets

  • Assign work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms safety, quality, and throughput

  • Completes Daily Operation Checklist

  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations and shop rules plant wide.

  • Maintains housekeeping standards throughout production department.

  • Interprets work instructions to workers, and assigns duties.

  • Assigns overtime for production workers.

  • Inspect parts for defects visually and using a variety of gauging (micrometers, calipers, gauge pins, CMM)

  • Verifies all setups (first piece approval) and ensure operators are trained properly to run and check parts in the area.

  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase safety and efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

  • Assists in troubleshooting of dies, presses and transfer equipment

  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

  • Plans for the productive utilization of operators during setup and downtime situations.

  • Cooperates and communicates well with other members of staff and management.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

All employees involved in production.

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include directing the training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required. 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing plant. Experience with stamping machines preferred.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Use common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk. The employee frequently is required to communicate with employees. He is required to stand and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
