Mining Fuel Systems IoT Maintenance Technical Support

A leading South African technology-driven energy company is transforming the fuel industry through digitisation automation and transparency. We are seeking a technically strong Systems Site Manager to be based at a mine in Delmas responsible for the management maintenance troubleshooting and optimisation of fuel monitoring systems and associated equipment on-site.

This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional with experience in mining environments electrical systems and equipment maintenance who can ensure system uptime data integrity and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day management and maintenance of all site systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults relating to:
  • IoT (Internet of Things) devices
  • Pumps and pumping systems
  • Fuel management systems
  • Electrical components wiring and related equipment
• Ensure all systems remain fully operational and online maintaining accurate and reliable data integrity.
• Conduct repairs preventative maintenance and fault-finding on all installed systems and assets.
• Manage and coordinate system installations in accordance with company installation guides and technical standards.
• Ensure accurate fuel usage data is captured and maintained to support the mine’s SARS diesel rebate claims.
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential failures or inefficiencies.
• Liaise with mine personnel contractors and technical teams to resolve operational challenges.
• Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental standards across all technical and operational activities.
• Maintain maintenance records service reports and technical documentation.
• Conduct inspections to ensure equipment is functioning optimally and safely.

Minimum Requirements

• Electrical qualification (Trade Certificate Diploma or equivalent) advantageous.
• Proven experience with electrical wiring fault finding and technical maintenance.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a technical maintenance systems or site management role.
• Previous experience working in a mining environment is highly advantageous.
• Experience working with IoT equipment pumps fuel systems instrumentation or telemetry systems preferred.
• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance and equipment repairs.
• Sound knowledge of mine health and safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical installation guides and manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Computer literacy and ability to manage system reporting and diagnostics.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to work on-site.
