SENIOR CONSULTANT INVESTMENT PERFORMANCE & ATTRIBUTION

The Senior Consultant - Investment Performance & Attribution role is an individual contributor position responsible for the accurate and timely calculation validation and delivery of investment performance attribution analytics and GIPS composites across a broad range of portfolios and fund structures. The role requires strong analytical expertise sound judgment and deep functional knowledge across performance and attribution methodologies to ensure highquality outcomes.
The individual will own daytoday execution of Performance and Attribution activities proactively managing data quality issues resolving complex attribution and return calculation challenges and ensuring adherence to internal controls and GIPS standards. This role works closely with global Performance & Attribution colleagues contributing to consistent practices scalable solutions and continuous process improvement across regions.
The role partners extensively with Portfolio Management Product Management Investment Operations Sales & Marketing and other internal stakeholders to support investment insights client reporting product initiatives and regulatory requirements. The individual is expected to contribute actively to projects enhancements and platform initiatives - bringing a strong solutionoriented mindset and applying analytical depth to improve accuracy efficiency and transparency.
In addition the role plays a key part in identifying and championing digital automation and process optimization opportunities that enhance operational effectiveness reduce manual effort and support scalability - while continuing to strengthen the core performance and attribution deliverables.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as a subject matter expert on Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) Investment Performance Measurement Attribution Investment Performance Analytics and drive excellence across this practice.
Responsibilities include:
Provides clients with consulting on complex performance capabilities to evaluate the performance of various investment vehicles in the clients plans/funds and monitor the guidelines for the Investments managers.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams such as Product PMs Internal Controls Legal and performance to assess the current state and architect the future state of global operating models processes and capabilities to successfully support evolving business needs related to GIPS and Performance.
Assess service level agreements and suggest improvements to create a robust governance and control framework to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate GIPS composites and marketing materials.
Participate in the development of calculation and reporting data governance standards that are agreed and leveraged across global teams to ensure data quality.
Oversee existing and prospective applications (proprietary and vended) to ensure fit-for-purpose platforms.
Stay informed of regulatory and industry requirements that may impact data elements required for presentation to clients and prospects.
Proactively identify and implement improvements to existing processes to further gain operational efficiency and productivity.
Collaborates with the wider analyst teams and delegate tasks appropriately to ensure deadlines are met.
Participate in global management team representing the region to regularly propose solutions and/or suggestions to improve level of client service.
Maintain strong working relationship with internal functional and support groups across the practice and provide SME input into strategic plans.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Detailed understanding of the Performance and methodologies asset management business with expertise in fixed income equity and multi-asset strategies. Familiarity of Alternative investment process performance and attribution analysis are complimentary to the role.
Strong organizational written and verbal client servicing skills required. Must have excellent time management interpersonal and multi-tasking skills
Ability to multitask meet deadlines adapt to change and willing to overcome obstacles to accomplish goal.
Knowledge/experience with Aladdin Eagle Bloomberg FactSet MSCI Index Monitor NT PACE Custom Hierarchy RADAR Data Direct and Integrated Reporting preferred.
Independent self-starter with an excellence in execution while ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment; possess excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with internal & external stakeholders.
Must be a critical thinker with excellent communication skills for presenting listening and writing functions. Strong presentation skills with ability to explain complex ideas at a high level
Understanding of how a clients data flows through Northern Trust systems is preferred
Ability to problem-solve develop and evaluate solutions while planning and prioritizing client activities to manage relationships effectively.
Proactively determine client needs or issues by asking insightful questions and developing the client relationship while effectively managing client and business partner expectations.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
For internal applications - 24 months as Consultant
Masters degree in Finance Economics or a related discipline strongly preferred; CFA and/or CIPM designation highly desirable.
Minimum of 9 years of hands-on experience in Investment Performance GIPS and Performance Attribution including active collaboration with Product teams to support the publication of official performance results and marketing materials.
Strong understanding of the asset management industry with a proven track record in performance and analytics roles at a mid-to-large investment management firm.
Deep expertise in performance measurement methodologies including return calculation performance analytics and multi-asset attribution.
Strong proficiency with investment performance systems reporting platforms and analytical tools and databases used in institutional asset management environments.
Prior project management experience - particularly in driving process improvements system enhancements or cross-functional initiatives - preferred.
