Job Summary
We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Raffles & Fairmont Doha as our new Commis 3.
As a Commis 3 at Raffles and Fairmont Doha you will support the culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences that reflect the elegance refinement and service excellence of both brands. You will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes ensuring consistency attention to detail and adherence to established recipes and standards.
You will work under the guidance of senior chefs contributing to smooth kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness organization and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. Through your dedication teamwork and eagerness to learn you will play an important role in upholding the culinary reputation of Raffles and Fairmont while supporting the creation of memorable guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation mise en place and presentation of dishes in accordance with established recipes standards and plating guidelines.
- Support the culinary team in delivering consistent high-quality food that reflects the luxury standards of Raffles & Fairmont Doha.
- Follow direction from senior chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods.
- Maintain cleanliness organization and proper hygiene of all workstations in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ensure proper handling storage and labeling of food items to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
- Assist in basic cooking tasks across different kitchen sections as required supporting operational flexibility.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients within assigned section and report shortages to senior chefs.
- Contribute to the timely preparation of mise en place to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Follow all hotel and brand standards recipes and presentation guidelines consistently.
- Support kitchen colleagues and foster a collaborative respectful and disciplined working environment.
- Participate in daily briefings and training sessions to continuously improve culinary skills and product knowledge.
- Uphold the highest standards of hygiene safety and cleanliness in line with Raffles & Fairmont brand expectations.
Qualifications :
What will you bring to this role
- Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment within a luxury hotel fine dining or high-volume establishment preferred.
- Basic culinary knowledge and understanding of food preparation techniques hygiene standards and kitchen operations.
- Passion for cooking with a strong desire to learn and develop within a luxury hospitality culinary environment.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to consistency quality and presentation standards.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a diverse kitchen team.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices; certification is an advantage.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and handle kitchen operational demands.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including early mornings late evenings weekends and public holidays as required.
