Job Summary
The Sr Software Test Engineer will be a member of the Engineering RD team working on software verification activities for medical devices and will work closely with other engineering staff to provide technical solutions to engineering problems. The role also involves creating test plans test cases procedures executing tests and generating reports and other project artifacts.
Must Have Experience
The candidate should have 8 to 10 years of embedded software verification experience in safety critical systems along with expertise in test automation frameworks such as MIL SIL and HIL. Experience in setting up embedded testing environments strong Python programming skills and the ability to define testing strategies are essential. Hands on experience with MATLAB SIMULINK risk management analysis such as SW FMEA and familiarity with real time operating systems like QNX VXWORKS and LINUX are required. Experience with tools like JAMA STASH BITBUCKET GIT JIRA CONFLUENCE and BAMBOO along with strong knowledge of agile principles is expected.
Knowledge Skill and Ability
The role requires requirement based embedded software verification knowledge experience in software and hardware software integration testing and preferably medical instruments verification experience. Familiarity with software development processes and standards such as FDA regulations and ISO standards like IEC 62304 is beneficial. Strong communication skills teamwork and a continuous improvement mindset are important.
Education
A BE or BTech in Computer Science Electronics or Electrical Engineering is required while an ME or MTech in the same fields is preferred.
Additional Responsibilities
Responsibilities include designing developing and implementing testing methods and equipment planning and organizing testing activities defining test parameters analyzing data and recommending changes to testing processes or equipment. The engineer will also handle special testing requirements and ensure quality outcomes.
