This is a Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley job.
A Brief Overview
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse performs the various duties in the surgical unit; performs non-nursing tasks in the surgical unit.

What you will do
- Assures linen is adequately stocked in warmers daily
- Maintains and records all temperature logs per department process and policy
- Prepares gurneys and beds as needed for operating rooms
- Organization of equipment room
- Delivers specimens to laboratory in a timely manner
- Assists with cleaning operating rooms at completion of each case in accordance with Infection Control guidelines
- Assists with inter-operative patient positioning
- Maintain adequate stock of all PPE at OR entrances and throughout unit
- Participates in gathering and putting away equipment and supplies as necessary
- Safely transports patients to and from the surgical suite as requested
- May assist with picking cases and assembling case carts for future cases
- Proactively assists with turnover including managing OR equipment and assisting with room turnover to ensure fluid running of department
- Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. C-I-CARE is the foundation of Stanford Health Care Tri-Valleys patient-experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactions.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Experience Qualifications
- 3 years to 5 years of relevant experience Required
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Level Requirements
Trains new staff members
Cross trains to other services i.e. Anesthesia GI picking cases
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read write and understand the English language
- Detail oriented
- Strong Organizational skills
- Ability to anticipate and change with the environment as needed
- Ability to maintain the physical demands of the job push/pull heavy equipment - 50lbs
- Knowledge of safety quality and joint commission standards as it relates to the department
Licenses and Certifications
- Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare
Providers required . - Trainer Certification for Surgical Technicians (CSCT) AHE required .

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $25.76 - $34.00 per hourThe salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity experience education specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
