Assistant Sales Manager Groups & Events
Job Summary
Assist the Director of Sales in developing and executing the annual group sales plan to achieve room night and revenue targets.
Proactively solicit new group accounts (corporate social association tour & travel) through outside calls site inspections and industry networking.
Manage and qualify incoming group RFPs ensuring response times under 2 hours and high conversion rates.
Lead hotel site tours and client presentations showcasing meeting spaces guest rooms and event capabilities.
Negotiate and close group contracts including room blocks attrition clauses cutoff dates and F&B minimums.
Supervise and mentor junior sales executives or coordinators reviewing their contracts and lead activity.
Create and distribute detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and Group Resumes to operations teams ensuring seamless event execution.
Act as the secondary on-site escalation point during events resolving client issues alongside the Banquet Manager.
Analyze monthly group performance reports (pick-up attrition ADR) and present findings in revenue strategy meetings.
Step in to cover the Sales Directors duties during absence and work flexible evenings/weekends for major group arrivals or events.
Qualifications :
- 2-3 years of proven experience in sales management with a focus on groups and events
- Demonstrated experience in hospitality resort operations or event coordination
- Strong proficiency in CRM software and sales reporting tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients
- Proven negotiation and closing abilities with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Team leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop staff
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software
- Knowledge of group booking systems and hospitality management systems
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed for events
- Willingness to work in a resort environment and adapt to a multicultural workplace
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends
- Experience in luxury hospitality or high-end event management is preferred
- Arabic Speaking is an added value.
