Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of related experience in commercial facility interior/exterior painting.
• Valid Florida drivers license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Florida commercial drivers license (CDL):
  • Class B;
  • Air brakes endorsement.

Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills; mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of pertinent regulations policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
• Knowledge of HIPAA Public Records Sunshine Law FERPA and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy public information and records retention.
• Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment materials practices computers and applications.
• Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.
• Ability to mix and match colors and textures.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
• Ability to comply with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/clean a variety of surfaces by pressure washing and/or wet/sand blasting for painting waterproofing and/or sealing for paint preparation.
• Perform highly skilled finishing work involving delicate color/texture matching hand mixing and spray finishing.
• Assess design and lay out striping for parking lots tracks gym floors outdoor courts and shop equipment.
• Perform emergency/vandalism repair.
• Operate and use a variety of industrial/commercial/vehicle equipment for painting and/or finishing.
• Comply with applicable safety regulations and procedures.
• Utilize basic District computer applications for communication training and record keeping.
• Assist in the instruction of personnel on specific tasks when required.
• Register with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Maintain driver and CDL licensure and required endorsements.
