Job Summary

General Overview

The Future of Privacy Forum seeks a Communications Intern to support its communications efforts reporting to the Senior Manager of Digital Communications. This is a paid part-time internship position located in Washington DC. There is flexibility for this internship to be either hybrid or fully remote.


Responsibilities

  • Develop social media content for FPFs channels (Twitter LinkedIn Instagram)

  • Assist in the branding and marketing of the organization including the development of small design projects

  • Assist in ongoing communications efforts for projects and campaigns

  • Assist in editing and posting content for the FPF blog and making updates to

  • Update the communications team with relevant new trends in the digital and marketing space

  • Complete research projects related to the organizations campaigns

  • Actively participate in meetings with internal FPF staff and external contractors such as designers web developers and more

  • Collaborate with Senior Manager of Digital Communications and Global Communications Manager to update and maintain the editorial calendar

  • Complete other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Completed or working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree preferably in a related field (Marketing Communications PR etc.)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Writing and editing abilities with AP style guide familiarity

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting as well as part of a team

  • Ability to quickly grasp new digital tools and concepts


Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in technology and data privacy issues

  • Familiarity with Slack project management tools () Hootsuite WordPress MailChimp Canva Google Analytics/Data Studio and StreamYard is a plus
