What Youll Be Doing
As the Senior Director Trade you will report to the VP Transaction Banking and lead the Trade Finance business for Canada. You will provide strategic leadership and direction for the Trade Finance Sales team setting vision and executing on strategies to drive growth deepen client relationships and enhance CIBCs position as a market leader in trade solutions.
In this role you will oversee the development and execution of business plans guide your team in achieving ambitious sales and revenue targets and ensure the delivery of exceptional client experiences. You will represent the voice of the client and collaborate closely with partners across Commercial Banking Product Operations and Risk to deliver integrated solutions that meet our clients evolving needs.

How Youll Succeed
Strategic Leadership - Set and execute the vision for the Trade Finance business aligning with CIBCs broader commercial banking strategy. Lead transformational initiatives and adapt national direction to regional market needs.
Business Development - Drive growth in trade finance by sourcing new business expanding existing relationships and developing market-specific plans. Ensure robust sales management practices and monitor performance against targets.
Client & Relationship Management - Champion a client-first approach representing client perspectives in solution design and delivery. Build and maintain high-profile relationships with key clients industry partners and centres of influence.
Collaboration - Partner with Relationship Managers Product Operations and other stakeholders to deliver seamless innovative trade solutions. Act as a senior ambassador for CIBC at industry events and in the community.
People Leadership - Inspire and develop a high-performing team. Provide coaching feedback and growth opportunities to build team and individual capabilities. Foster a culture of trust teamwork and accountability.
Market & Industry Expertise - Stay abreast of market trends competitor offerings and regulatory changes. Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in trade finance solutions.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate extensive experience in trade finance commercial or corporate banking and have a proven track record in sales and business development.
You are a strategic leader. You are comfortable leading via matrix environment geographically dispersed teams and driving transformational change.
You put our clients first. You have advanced relationship management skills and the ability to develop solutions that meet complex client needs.
You act like an owner. You have strong business and financial acumen with a deep understanding of trade finance products risk management and market dynamics.
