Stewardship support consultant role enables the firms stewardship operations by implementing proxy governance policies and managing vendor relationships including invoice processing and incident tracking. It involves daily proxy voting administration sustainability data reporting and efficient task allocation across the global team. The position also contributes to regulatory filings handles internal and client reporting needs including due diligence and RFPs coordinates responses to compliance inquiries and assists with various cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Job Description
DUTIES:
- Support the firms Proxy Committee to implement all policies and procedures governing the firms stewardship activities.
- Assist with the ongoing administration and oversight of key vendor relationships including working with accounts receivable to ensure timely payment of invoices and entering periodic reports into vendor management systems like Coupa to track any vendor incidents or material changes.
- Support administration end reporting and process improvement in the daily execution of proxy voting. This would include support with running ESG voting data for reporting initiatives as well as the efficient allocation of voting matters within the global team.
- Assist with the preparation and review of various regulatory reporting obligations including substantial shareholder obligations.
- Support various internal and client reporting obligations including client due diligence questionnaires and RFP submissions on behalf of the team.
- Coordinate responses to recurring and ad hoc portfolio compliance inquiries.
- Assist with other projects and initiatives as needed.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Strong understanding of sustainability & ESG issues and how they relate to investment.
- Willingness to perform structured and unstructured tasks with a high sense of urgency and excellent attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills and critical thinking; innate sense of concern and ability to identify and quickly escalate issues as needed.
- Works effectively with internal and external partners from peer group to senior managers as well as traders and investment team personnel.
- Ability to develop and maintain a strong peer network across the firm to support information sharing and to resolve potential issues quickly.
- Ability to cope with changes & uncertainty while maintaining a client-service mentality along with an innate sense of curiosity.
- Demonstrated effective research and technical writing skills and experience recording meeting minutes and overall records management.
- Demonstrated experience in responding and supporting firm responses to client due diligence RFP reporting inquires and reporting.
EXPERIENCE:
- For internal applications - 24 months as Associate Analyst(P1)
- Bachelors degree required (Finance Economics Accounting or other related field). (PMP) Certification desirable but not required.
- 3-5 years experience in the securities industry.
- Proven track record of overseeing complex operational processes and vendor management.
- Prior experience with systems like Proxy Edge (Broadridge) Proxy Exchange (ISS) Viewpoint (Glass Lewis) applications a plus.
- Previous regulatory reporting experience preferred specifically tied to global substantial shareholder ownership limits preferred.
- Above average proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (proficiency in MS Excel preferred).
