Become a Key Player as a Machinist 1

You will deliver precision machined parts that support the clients production objectives and defense systems. You will work on site on 1st shift (core hours 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM) collaborating with machinists inspectors and assembly teams to meet tolerance and schedule targets. Your work ensures components meet specifications and assembly readiness for downstream teams.

Heres How Youll Make an Impact on the Team

• Set up and operate conventional and CNC lathes turret lathes mills and other machine-shop equipment to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
• Study blueprints drawings and specifications to determine dimensions tolerances and sequence of operations.
• Select align and secure fixtures cutting tools attachments and materials for machining operations.
• Calculate and set machining controls (speed feed coolant flow depth/angle of cut) or edit NC programs as required.
• Start and observe machine operation detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and make adjustments.
• Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications using inspection instruments (calipers micrometers height gauges).
• Perform trial runs maintain and clean machining equipment and create tooling and holding fixtures as needed.
• Assist other departments as assigned including assembly bonding soldering and packaging tasks.

Heres What Youll Need to Be Successful in This Role

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six (6) or more years experience operating and setting up conventional and CNC lathes mills and other machine shop equipment.
• Training in CNC machining inspection techniques and shop safety.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints manuals and procedure documents.
• Proficiency with inspection instruments (calipers micrometers height gauges) and ability to inspect your own work to hold close tolerances.
• Ability to perform basic and applied math relevant to geometry trigonometry fractions percentages ratios and proportions.
• Ability to work independently produce quality parts and communicate effectively in English.
• Physical ability to perform job duties (stand walk lift up to 25 pounds close vision color vision) and tolerate shop noise and exposure to mechanical parts and particles.

Heres What Else Might Help You Out

• Knowledge of Fadal and Haas machines.
• Experience with 4-axis machining.
• Experience with ESD controls resistance welding microscope work soldering epoxy mixing bonding and handling classified assemblies.

Pay Range

$17.91 - $22.39/hour
