Power Systems Expert (RailMetro)

Job Description

Overview

The Power Systems Expert is responsible for overseeing the maintenance performance and reliability of all metro power systems during the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) phase. This includes high medium and traction power systems such as substations cables transformers and protection equipment. The role ensures that all maintenance activities are carried out safely efficiently and in line with contractual obligations and Employer expectations. The Power Systems Expert also plays a key role in monitoring O&M Contractor performance reviewing technical submissions coordinating with Design & Build (DB) Contractors and advising on long-term asset management strategies.

Your role

• Oversee maintenance activities of all power systems including high medium and traction substations
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of transformers cables and protection systems
• Verify that all O&M activities meet safety standards and Employer expectations
• Monitor and evaluate O&M Contractors performance and service delivery
• Assess contractor performance and implement adjustments where required
• Oversee mobilization of O&M Contractors and sub-contractors
• Review contractor submissions including asset management plans maintenance plans procedures and instructions
• Ensure compliance of contractor deliverables with contractual requirements
• Coordinate effectively between O&M Contractors and Design & Build (DB) Contractors
• Support integration and alignment of power systems with overall metro operations
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on power systems engineering
• Advise on asset management strategies lifecycle planning and system optimization
• Conduct inspections audits and performance reviews of power systems
• Ensure proper documentation reporting and compliance with regulatory standards

About you

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5 years of technical and managerial experience in power systems
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems including substations transformers and protection systems
• Experience in maintenance and operation of railway or metro power infrastructure
• Ability to review technical documentation and maintenance strategies
• Experience in contractor performance management and evaluation
• Good understanding of safety standards and electrical regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent coordination and stakeholder management abilities
• Good communication and reporting skills
