Job Title: K-6 Physical Education Teacher

Reports To: Principal

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Elementary Physical Education (PE) Teacher to promote physical activity healthy habits and motor skill development in young students. The ideal candidate will create a safe inclusive and engaging learning environment that encourages teamwork sportsmanship and lifelong fitness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate PE lessons that align with state and national physical education standards.

• Teach students fundamental motor skills movement patterns rules of games/sports and fitness concepts.

• Organize and supervise physical activities games and fitness routines that promote skill development and overall health.

• Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages participation and inclusion of all students.

• Assess and monitor student progress in physical skills fitness effort and behavior.

• Promote healthy lifestyle choices and educate students about physical well-being.

• Ensure the safe use and proper maintenance of all physical education equipment and facilities.

• Collaborate with classroom teachers staff and parents to support student development and school-wide wellness initiatives.

• Participate in school events professional development and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelors degree in Physical Education Kinesiology or related field.

• Valid teaching certification in Physical Education (state-specific).

• Knowledge of child development and best practices in elementary PE instruction.

Preferred:

• CPR/First Aid certification.

• Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school or recreational setting.

• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to work both indoors (gymnasium) and outdoors (playground/field).

• Must be able to demonstrate physical activities and lift/move equipment as needed.

• Flexible to adapt lessons based on student needs and available resources.
