Machine Operator III

• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Operate various machines within the cell
• Makes minor adjustment as necessary or notify Lead person or Setup person if a more significant adjustment is required
• Maintains a clean machine and organized work area.
• Performs preventative maintenance including lubricating machines when needed
• Makes minor repairs and notifies maintenance for other maintenance needs.
• Performs variety of tasks such as counting cleaning returning gauges and fixtures transferring of parts
• Use measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances
• Follows schedules and procedures
• Adaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-training
• Sees that all safety guards are in place and in good condition
• Assists other operators if necessary
• Inspects work in progress using equipment necessary and outlined in Quality or work instructions. Responsible for quality of own work
• Forklift (i.e. powered industrial truck) operation.
• All other duties as assigned

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• Must be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints specification sheets and/or mechanical drawings and in precision measurement or become proficient through training.

• Computer literacy
• Capable of using measuring instruments i.e. micrometer calipers height gauge etc.
• Capable of using hand tools (i.e. screwdriver wrenches etc.)
• Ability to read and write perform basic arithmetic and follow verbal and written instructions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required

• Minimum (5) years of experience operating production machinery in a manufacturing or production environment.

Desired

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Use of vision correction is acceptable if necessary; however any vision correction apparatus must meet all safety guidelines for the area of activity.
