About the unit
The Gerber ED is a certified Primary Stroke Center and Level IV Trauma Center. There are over 20 care spaces to treat patients with minor to major medical and traumatic emergencies. Interdisciplinary team members collaborate closely to provide relationship-based care for our patients and their loved ones. Gerber ED has over 27000 visits/year and ranks highly in patient experience and throughput measures. We value teamwork culture and process improvement from each member of our teams!
Our Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) participates in a rotational on-call schedule with other CNMs serving approximately every eight weeks to provide guidance and support to regional hospital Emergency Departments.
Scope of Work
Assumes 24-hour accountability for managing supervising and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing services/ unit of the hospital. Develops policies procedures and processes in coordination with other leaders to ensure the highest quality services are provided at all times to all customers. Assures presence of a supportive and healthy work environment that promotes retention and embraces diversity. Key responsibilities include unit based goal setting program development fiscal management resource allocation standards of care policy and procedure development and interpretation human resource development performance improvement supports a culture of safety and maintenance of interprofessional collaborative relationships.
Nurse Managers in inpatient and outpatient units are REQUIRED to obtain their Nursing Administration or Professional/Specialty Certification within 12 months of assuming the role or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hire in to the role.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) Required.
- Masters Degree MS MSN MBS MM MHA MPH Preferred.
- 2 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required.
- 2 years of emergency nursing experience Strongly Preferred.
- 1 year of recent relevant leadership Required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
- AHA Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 90 days.
