Social Worker

We are working closely with local authority in Central Bedfordshire to assist with the appointment of a Social Worker on a 3-months contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 28.28- 38.00 per hour

Summary:

Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking experienced and dedicated Social Workers to join the Children Services Locality Team within the Family Help service. The role focuses on delivering high-quality social work interventions that safeguard children strengthen families and improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young people. This role requires a passionate practitioner with strong assessment safeguarding and court work experience who is committed to delivering child-centred practice and achieving positive change for children and families.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a varied and complex caseload involving children young people and families.
• Undertake Child in Need Child Protection and Court work in line with statutory requirements.
• Prepare clear accurate and high-quality reports for court proceedings case conferences and assessments.
• Ensure compliance with legislation policies procedures and professional standards.
• Promote safeguarding child welfare and early intervention practices.

Essentials:

• Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Minimum five years post-qualifying experience within Children Services.
• Proven ability to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
• Full UK driving licence and access to transport where required.

• This role requires an Enhanced DBS
