Warehouse Associate Pelham AL 90-Day Contract Onsite Temp-to-Hire

Execute warehousing activities for incoming and outgoing goods in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Receive handle store record and dispatch goods while ensuring safe timely and efficient operations. This temp-to-hire position involves picking packing loading unloading and shipping activities with occasional forklift operation and manual pallet wrapping.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Title: Warehouse Associate

Type: Contract (Pay-as-you-go) Temp-to-Hire

Duration: 90 days (May 25 2026 September 7 2026)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Schedule: MondayFriday 7:00 AM4:00 PM CST (1 hour unpaid lunch)

Work Type: Onsite

Reporting Location: Pelham AL (309-D Cahaba Valley Parkway North)

Start Date: May 25 2026

Overtime: Occasional OT available

COMPENSATION:

Pay Rate: $17.00/hour

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Fast-paced warehouse environment

Physical labor-intensive role

Manual pallet wrapping required

Forklift and warehouse equipment operation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

RECEIVING & INBOUND OPERATIONS:

Unload incoming goods and merchandise from trucks

Receive and put away incoming goods and merchandise

Unpack bales crates and other containers

Check for damage and verify against invoices

Install strapping bracing or padding to prevent damage

Record all incoming goods in ERP system (SxE)

STORAGE & INVENTORY MANAGEMENT:

Sort label move and store goods accurately

Place material/items on racks shelves or in bins

Arrange storage to optimize warehouse space

Follow size style or product code sequences

Weigh or count items for distribution

Maintain complete and accurate data in ERP system

Assist in inventory level maintenance and counts

Document inventory discrepancies

PICKING & PACKING OPERATIONS:

Prepare pick pack and dispatch outgoing goods

Use pick sheets (paper or electronic) to locate items

Remove products from shelves

Place products on pallets using pallet jacks/forklifts

Follow stacking policies to prevent damage

Verify product and quantity accuracy

Process and load customer shipments

Complete shipping tickets and worksheets

SHIPPING & LOADING:

Load trucks for customer delivery

Install strapping bracing or padding for transit

Check for damage and verify against shipping work orders

Consolidate freight for shipping

Verify shipping methods and handle oversize loads

Communicate with freight carriers as needed

Ensure shipping routes are maintained

Handle manual pallet wrapping

WAREHOUSE EQUIPMENT OPERATION:

Operate forklifts as needed (sit-down preferred)

Operate cherry-picker lifts

Operate pallet jacks

Operate other warehouse machinery as assigned

Maintain equipment safety standards

DATA & DOCUMENTATION:

Enter data into ERP/computerized systems

Maintain up-to-date stock records

Retrieve stored information for inquiries

Document discrepancies on error logs

Compile routine warehouse reports

Print shipping tickets using internal systems

SAFETY & COMPLIANCE:

Follow all warehouse safety regulations

Maintain safe work practices

Report safety concerns and hazards

Comply with company policies and procedures

REQUIREMENTS:

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 1 year of relevant warehouse experience and/or training

Loading unloading picking packing or moving goods experience required

Forklift or cherry picker experience preferred (not required)

Temp-to-hire or contract warehouse experience a plus

Warehouse environment familiarity

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required)

Forklift operator certification preferred (can be obtained)

Basic computer proficiency or demonstrated technical aptitude

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Basic computer knowledge and proficiency

ERP system experience preferred (will train on SxE Prophet 21 Vista Control)

MS Office experience preferred

Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules work orders instructions)

Basic mathematical skills (add subtract multiply divide)

Ability to compute rate ratio and percent

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
