Ambulatory Medical Assistant - Full Time
Rome Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Rome and Oneida. This position supports providers and clinical staff by performing a combination of administrative and clinical duties in a fast-paced healthcare setting. The Medical Assistant plays an important role in coordinating patient care supporting daily operations and helping ensure a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist providers and nursing staff with patient care and clinical procedures
- Prepare patients for appointments procedures and treatments
- Obtain and document vital signs and patient information
- Organize and maintain patient records and medical documentation
- Coordinate scheduling testing and follow-up appointments
- Communicate with patients caregivers physicians and outside healthcare facilities
- Collect laboratory specimens including phlebotomy and microbiology swabs
- Perform EKG testing as directed
- Prepare exam and treatment areas and maintain clinical supplies
- Support patient flow and help ensure efficient daily operations
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all safety and compliance standards
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience working in a hospital ambulatory or medical office setting preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Basic clinical and computer skills preferred
