Role Overview
The Tier 1 Operations Analyst is a core member of FMG operations team a globally distributed team that keeps the engine of our customers supply chain running 24x7. Working within a small pod of 3-4 people the role will process end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) transactions on the tech platform ensuring accuracy speed and consistency across markets. This is a hands-on operational role ideal for analytically minded graduates who want to build deep understanding of global food supply chain operations from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Processing
- Execute end-to-end P2P processes on the tech platform following globally standardised Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Process purchase orders order confirmations invoice matching goods receipts and payment processing within defined SLAs
- Handle happy-path transactions and resolve minor exceptions (e.g. price variances within threshold data corrections) without escalation
Exception Identification & Escalation
- Identify transactions that fall outside SOP scope and escalate to Tier 2 specialists with clear documentation of the issue actions taken and recommended resolution
- Categorise and log exceptions accurately to support root cause analysis and continuous improvement
Shift Handoff & Continuity
- Participate in structured shift handoffs documenting open items in-progress work and context notes for the incoming pod
- Ensure seamless 24x7 operational continuity across global time zones with zero dropped tasks
Data Quality & Compliance
- Maintain high data accuracy across all transactions processed on the tech platform
- Adhere to FMGs data governance standards and customer compliance requirements
- Flag data quality issues or system anomalies to the Team Lead promptly
Performance & Reporting
- Meet individual and pod-level KPIs including transaction volumes accuracy rates cycle times and SLA adherence
- Contribute to daily operational reporting and dashboard updates
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Business Supply Chain Finance Economics or related discipline
- 2-3 years of experience in a p2p / supply chain function as an analyst
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Comfortable working in a structured process-driven environment with clear SOPs
- Ability to work rotating shifts to support the follow-the-sun operating model
- Proficiency with enterprise systems and willingness to learn the Ascend platform quickly
- Team player who thrives in small close-knit pods
Desirable
- Experience working in a global or multi-time zone team environment
