Security Manager, Amazon Corporate Security

Job Summary
The Security Manager (SM) reports to a Regional Security Manager who leads a team of security experts for a dedicated sub-region. The SM is responsible for supporting the implementation of all elements of the Corporate Security program at all Amazon corporate locations in their area of responsibility.
The SM supports the Regional Security Manager with delivery and oversight of the day-to-day security operations in a highly ambiguous and dynamically fluid environment. The SM conducts a variety of security assessments administers mitigations and tracks security issues through to resolution. The SM leverages their security expertise to implement security plans policies and programs; respond to and escalate operational security concerns; and work closely with the guard force services to deliver best-in-class security services.
Key job responsibilities
- Security Service Delivery Deliver best-in-class security services to safeguard all Amazon employees contractors and visitors ensuring a safe and secure work environment across all assigned sites.
- Trusted Security Advisor Serve as the subject matter expert and go-to security advisor within the area of responsibility leveraging strong communication and briefing skills to guide stakeholders.
- Site & Operations Management Manage day-to-day security operations across a diverse portfolio of sites implementing security plans policies and programs aligned with organizational goals.
- Incident & Crisis Response Coordinate and lead security incident response efforts addressing customer security concerns promptly and effectively.
- Threat Monitoring & Risk Mitigation Continuously monitor the external threat environment identifying and implementing measures to minimize security risks to the business.
- Metrics & Strategic Alignment Align ACS metrics goals and strategic direction across the geographic area to support the broader team mission and drive measurable performance improvements.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Trust Building Foster trust through meaningful engagement with key customers stakeholders and external partners ensuring timely and accurate communication at all levels.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration Build and maintain strong relationships with peers across Amazons security functions to share intelligence address gaps and develop best practices collectively.
A day in the life
The Security Manager begins each day overseeing guarding operations holding vendors accountable for service quality while identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies. Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external partners including local law enforcement is a core part of the role ensuring a well-connected and responsive security network.
Throughout the day the Security Manager monitors performance metrics to drive continuous improvement across individuals teams and sites while conducting security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate gaps in security controls. When incidents arise the Security Manager leads initial investigations and coordinates corporate security support for events ensuring swift and effective responses.
Planning and executing drills tabletop exercises and readiness activities are regular responsibilities alongside supporting the testing and maintenance of business continuity plans. The Security Manager also drives project delivery to meet team milestones implementing clear and measurable processes and procedures that are effectively communicated to Amazon stakeholders.
Rounding out the day the Security Manager engages in customer outreach and supports organizational safety initiatives while overseeing physical security device installations commissioning checks for new buildings and ongoing vendor-managed maintenance activities.
About the team
The Global Corporate Security team drives security operations for Amazon Corporate Security at corporate sites worldwide. Divided in three regions (Americas; Asia Pacific; and Europe Middle East and Africa) each led by a Head of Corporate Security Global Corporate Security is a team of security experts who work closely together to protect and secure Amazons people and business.
- Experience in the security field in a global corporate environment or large-sized organization (e.g. NGO public sector police or military) managing multiple countries in South East Asian region.
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Incident Management Threat Management Corporate Investigations Law Enforcement Security Operations or Crisis Management or a comparable field with a proven track record of conducting threat assessments leading workplace investigations and/or managing incident response activities.
- Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice Security Law Enforcement Business Management Accounting or related fields
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Physical Security Professional (PSP) and/or similar certifications as well as trainings in Risk Management Emergency Response Planning Security Technology or similar areas.
