FW Verification and Validation Engineer
Job Summary
Generic Job Description (not Job Level specific): The FW/MW Engineer analyzes designs programs debugs and modifies software. Troubleshoots code for firmware (IC embedded code) applications. Work often involves analog and digital hardware and software operating systems. Position requires knowledge and exposure to hardware design.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Understanding of FW design Architecture and Test framework and test case development using C / C
- Defining test specifications at module or integration level.
- Develop execute and automate tests for characterizing key performance metrics of the system.
- Design & Implementation of Test Automation for FW Testing.
- Debug and track the FW and RF issues until the closure.
- Close interaction with Firmware Development team.
- Participation in code review technical reviews and ensure the quality of deliverables.
- Work on SDKs debuggers and development tools such as FW downloaders Encryption tools etc
Experience & Skill:
- 5-10 years of experience in Firmware Verification & Validation
- Must have experience in embedded systems and protocols such as - SPI I2C UART USB embedded RTOS etc.
- Good to have experience to low level firmware programming for embedded systems / low level Drivers
- Excellent C programming skills Exposure to C/C# is a plus.
- Scripting languages like Python. Groovy Shell etc. will be an advantage.
- Embedded SW design/development (32 bit platforms preferably ARM architecture)
- Experience in using Target Debuggers (J-Link LPC-Link).
- Experience working with IDEs such as Eclipse MCUXPresso LPCexpresso Keil IAR etc.
- Experience in working with Visual Studio Toolchain is a plus.
- Excellent analytical problem solving debugging skills & interpretation skills
- Exposure to change management / configuration management bug tracking tools such as Git SVN Jenkins etc
- Must have experience on development boards evaluation kits / starter kits debugging tools like JTAG real-time debugging with breakpoints memory dump / corruption analysis.
- Self-motivated good verbal and written communication.
- Self-driven and proactive.
Preferred:
- Working experience in Identification / RF domain
- Knowledge of NFC SmartCards MIFARE Contact Cards EMVCo
- Know-how of smart card Contact less Proximity Standards such as ISO14443 ISO15693 ISO18092.
- Near Field Communication Standards.
- Knowledge of Cryptographic algorithms & security protocol
