Job Summary: | The Section of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition and the Digestive Health Institute of Childrens Hospital Colorado are seeking a pediatric gastroenterologist with expertise in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. This faculty position is located at Childrens Hospital Colorado on the Anschutz Medical Campus in the Denver Metro area. Responsibilities will focus on providing diagnostic therapeutic and care management services for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The right candidate will bring experience in patient-oriented studies in the clinical setting. This role will require leadership within the IBD Center and advancing its strategic initiatives. We are seeking a candidate to continue and grow our IBD Programs clinical trials portfolio. For those interested we offer the opportunity to develop our intestinal ultrasound program as well as enhance our specialized care for Very Early Onset IBD. This position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including pediatric surgery immunology Psychology Dieticians Social Work and critical care and may involve consultation services to other pediatric facilities within the CHCO System of Care. All of our faculty members bring a strong clinical focus while many pursue research opportunities in clinical medicine and in education. Our faculty also serve in administrative capacities for the University Childrens Hospital and our partner hospitals. Key Responsibilities: Interfacing with pharmaceutical industry sponsors international/national consortiums to continue strengthening our national and international reputation. Continuing participation with national and international consortiums Patient care in Pediatric Gastrointestinal Diseases at Childrens Hospital Colorado (CHCO) and its network of care locations and outreach clinics including inpatient attending and outpatient clinics as well as performing the full range of gastrointestinal procedures Provide consultative and call support services for CHCO and affiliated healthcare partners. The IBD center has 9 providers 7 at the Anschutz Campus and 2 at the Colorado Springs Campus This team has dedicated nurses medical assistants dieticians psychologists and research coordinators. The IBD team is an all-encompassing team that covers basic science translational and clinical researchers as well as dedicated clinicians performing outcomes research. The IBD Center is housed within the Section ofGastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition is a national leader in innovative clinical practice developing and testing new diagnostics and treatments and training the next generation of clinicians and researchers. The Section is ranked the #7 pediatric gastroenterology program in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. Current faculty includes 42 pediatric gastroenterologists and hepatologists 13 advanced practice providers (APPs) 5 pediatric psychologists specializing in pediatric gastroenterology and 10 pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology fellows. The faculty are supported by registered dieticians social works and child life specialists. Faculty work closely with all pediatric subspecialties and allied health professionals both inpatient serving our 400 bed hospital and outpatient serving Colorado and surrounding states. While our faculty lead many multidisciplinary programs including the Gastrointestinal Eosinophilic Disease Program Intestinal Rehabilitation Program Neurogastroenterology and Motility Program and Polyposis Clinic the physician taking this role will join our Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program which serves as a regional referral center for complex IBD patients across the mountain west region and nationally. The Section includes many of the leading researchers in pediatric gastroenterology hepatology and nutrition in the country. Research opportunities in advanced endoscopy include clinical outcomes studies device development and testing and procedural innovation. Research in the broader Section bridges across basic sciences translational medicine and clinical research related to pediatric gastrointestinal and liver diseases offering potential collaborative opportunities for faculty interested in translational research. Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Associate Professor: Medical Degree (MD/DO) ABP Pediatrics Board Certified Completed fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology at RRC-approved fellowship (or equivalent) by the time of hire date Five or more years of clinical experience in Pediatric Gastroenterology Condition of Employment: Must successfully pass a drug test through Childrens Hospital Colorado Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check *For questions regarding Childrens Hospital drug testing requirements please contact Childrens Human Resources at . Preferred Qualifications: 6 years of clinical experience in pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease Experience in patient-oriented studies in the clinical setting. Anticipated Pay Range: | The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: Associate Professor: $250000 to $288000 The above hiring range represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
