Job Summary
The Grand Bargain (GB) launched during the WHS in Istanbul in May 2016 is a unique agreement between some of the largest donors and humanitarian organisations who have committed to get more means into the hands of people in need and to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the humanitarian action.
The GB is a unique forum bringing together donors and aid organisations to drive progress on a common vision of maximising the impact of humanitarian work. The process is supported by a Secretariat responsible for overall coordination and communication in the process and for providing specific support to the governance bodies namely the Grand Bargain Ambassadors and the Facilitation Group.
The Grand Bargain Secretariat requires an intern to support the team in during the final phase of the GB framework for 2024-2026 and the GB platform as formalised in 2016. The intern will provide analytical administrative logistical and event management support in close collaboration with the Policy and Communications Technical Officer and the rest of the team. The intern will be expected to undertake background research contribute to the production of working documents and support the organisation of meetings and events.
The Secretariat is hosted bythe Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in the Humanitarian Hub in Geneva. NRC provides administrative support including regarding the recruitment of staff that are contracted by the organisation. Important: Only students enrolled in a course of study andpursuing thisinternship as a mandatory and integral part of a university program provided for under Swiss cantonal or federal legislation are eligible for this university must be willing to sign a tri-partite agreement with NRC Geneva and provide an attestation confirming that the internship gives study credits.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities:
Support thePolicy and Communications Technical Officer and the rest of the team in the following areas:
Support all phases of event planning for the Annual Meeting: venue coordination participant management scheduling travel and accommodation logistics and on-site coordination.
Draft and manage event-related communications invitations agendas background documents meeting minutes and post-meeting summaries.
Support outreach and communication internally and externally through communication and outreach products.
Draft background information and contribute to developing supporting documents.
Attend meetings/events as relevant and draft minutes summary notes and action points.
Support the preparation of donor reports and material for grants in line with donor requirements.
Undertake research and review published reports on humanitarian financing and policy issues.
Provide general administrative support to the team as and when needed.
Carry out procurement as needed.

Qualifications
Professional competencies
Currently enrolled in a mastersdegree programme insocial scienceinternational development international relations or related field.
Interest in humanitarian policy and reform with ability to demonstrate familiarity with one or more relevant policy areas a strong advantage.
Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English.
Proven research analytical and documentation skills.
Experience in or strong interest in high-level event management logistics and multilateral meeting support.
Self-starter and team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced international environment.
Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities during a dynamic transition period.
